WHY THIS WATCH
A true aviators watch, the Omega Flightmaster was introduced in 1969 and was made for aviators who wanted a second timezone watch that could be adjusted on the fly. This particular watch is the third generation ref. 145.036 that introduced a running subsidiary seconds hand, and a modified calibre 861 dubbed the "911". Interestingly, while the Speedmaster was used by NASA, the Flightmaster was the favorite space-faring watch by ROSCOSMOS, the Soviet Space Agency. This particular example is even more special as it was purchased from it's original owner, a pilot who has provided the original manuals, and paperwork including the guarantee stamped by the Air Force Exchange (see last picture for paperwork). He has also included a letter describing the circumstances of the purchase.
